Originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick, I now live in Montréal, Québec where I'm a VP of Content Creation in Media and Entertainment at Autodesk. The product team I lead is responsible for some of the leading content creation applications in the Media and Entertainment industry, notably 3ds Max, Maya, Arnold, Bifrost and Flame.
I serve as Autodesk's representative on the Academy Software Foundation Governing Board, and have been involved in several key open source initiatives. I'm also a member of the Visual Effects Society, and have hosted several CG Spotlight events together with SIGGRAPH Montreal which aim to give local studios a venue to showcase their work, and also students from local universities to present research and development initiatives.
Many years ago, I completed a Ph.D. in Computer Science at McGill University under the supervision of Prof. Gregory Dudek, followed up by a Post Doctoral Fellowship at Université de Montréal in Prof. Pierre Poulin's lab.
In my spare time, I like to ride motorcycles on the track, do technical and cave scuba diving, play tennis, take pictures, and pay way too much attention to how to make a proper third wave espresso. I'm also an avid fan of MotoGP, F1, ATP / WTA, and the NBA.
